According to the proposal from the 18th Department Meeting of Academic Year 2023:
Regarding the course plan for 2024, it was decided to remove the department’s Second Foreign Language French courses (1), (2), (3), and (4) from the 2024 curriculum.
The department will not offer Second Foreign Language courses in Japanese (1), (2) and Korean (1), (2). However, students may take these Second Foreign Language courses — Japanese (1), (2) or Korean (1), (2) — at the General Education Language Center to earn credits. These credits can be applied to fulfill the department’s Second Foreign Language requirements for Japanese (1), (2) or Korean (1), (2).
Advisors and department faculty are requested to assist students in appropriate course selection.
After completing the Second Foreign Language courses in Japanese (1), (2) or Korean (1), (2) at the General Education Language Center and obtaining the credits, students should submit the relevant documents to the department office. The department office will assist students in processing the necessary administrative procedures for credit recognition.
The credit recognition for the Second Foreign Language is limited to the credits required for the department’s Japanese (1), (2) and Korean (1), (2) courses only.

-
If the same or equivalent courses are listed in different programs, and have been approved by the respective college and department curriculum committees, the credits for those courses may be counted simultaneously toward the different programs. However, the credits cannot be counted more than once toward graduation requirements.

This table should be published simultaneously on the respective college and department websites to notify and inform students.
